Despite the wide range of positive properties and rich composition, it is worth remembering that treatment of prostatitis with traditional medicine at home is possible only in combination with medications, but not as monotherapy. In addition, it is necessary to consult with the treating urologist to determine the absence of contraindications and obtain approval for a particular use of the drug.
Contraindications
The use of folk remedies in some cases can also cause negative effects. Aspen has the following contraindications:
- in case of individual intolerance or allergic reaction;
- for problems with the gastrointestinal tract, especially stomach colic and constipation;
- with dysbacteriosis.
In addition, it is worth remembering that ethyl alcohol is incompatible with drug treatment, so the use of alcohol infusions may also be contraindicated.
How to collect aspen bark
Only trees that are located in an ecologically clean area are suitable for collection - there should be no enterprises or highways nearby.
The most effective material can be prepared from young trees. They can be determined by the diameter of the trunk - the optimal one is about 7 cm. In addition, the best raw materials are collected during the growing season, when the flow of juice is most active and the most useful substances accumulate. For aspen, this period begins at the end of April and lasts until mid-May.
To collect, make a vertical cut in the middle of a 15-20 cm long trunk. Next, make circular cuts at the ends of this section and remove this section of bark. Only the top layers are needed, without any wood impurities, so do not make too deep cuts, but rather prepare a sharp knife.
Before drying, you need to cut the collected material into thin strips. The drying process itself should be carried out in a ventilated, dark place. Sunlight or oven drying can destroy most of the beneficial substances.
Dry material should be stored in fabric bags for no longer than 3 years.
An easier way is to buy already prepared bark at a pharmacy. It is properly collected and dried, so it will give maximum results.
