Effect of electrical stimulation of the prostate

Electrical stimulation of the prostate helps to cope with congestion, increase blood circulation, saturate the organ with oxygen and nutrients. This improves the condition when treating inflammation or preventing it.

The procedures are carried out in specialized institutions; the duration, number of sessions and current strength are determined by a specialist.

Impact

An electrical stimulator of the prostate acts on the tissue with a weak current discharge, which causes muscle contractions. This increases the flow of fresh blood and provides the organ with additional oxygen.

As a result of exposure:

  • blood vessels dilate;
  • blood circulation increases;
  • metabolism improves at the cellular level;
  • regeneration accelerates;
  • muscle tone improves.

Due to the increase in tissue temperature under the influence of current, scar tissue is reabsorbed, this helps fight adhesions in the prostate gland.

Electrical stimulation for prostatitis helps:

  • relieving inflammation and swelling;
  • reducing pain in the perineum;
  • improving urination.

Indications

Electrical stimulation of the prostate gland is indicated:

  • for congestive (abacterial) and infectious prostatitis;
  • infertility;
  • erectile dysfunction;
  • for chronic pelvic pain;
  • inflammation of the urethra.

Contraindications

The procedure can be prescribed only after a complete examination. In some diseases, myostimulation of the prostate is contraindicated when:

  • purulent and calculous prostatitis;
  • acute stage of prostatitis;
  • hemorrhoids in the acute stage;
  • cancer of the genitourinary system or rectum;
  • prostate tuberculosis.

How is the procedure performed?

The prostate myostimulator consists of a power supply and electrodes. There are models with one electrode, but they are ineffective. The most commonly used devices are those with two electrodes:

  1. The first one has the form of a plate and is attached in the area of the coccyx or just above the pubis.
  2. The second is a catheter; its attachment depends on the method of stimulation.

There are several methods of electrical stimulation of the prostate:

  • transrectal;
  • transurethral;
  • surface.

They differ in the way the electrodes are attached and have different efficiencies:

  1. With the transrectal method, a catheter is inserted into the anus and fixed in the prostate area. The method has good effectiveness, but is accompanied by some unpleasant sensations and is a little painful.
  2. The transurethral method differs in that a catheter is inserted through the urethra to the bladder sphincter. In this case, stimulation is carried out not only of the prostate gland, but also of the entire urinary system. This procedure can only be performed by a well-qualified specialist, as there is a possibility of damage to the mucous membrane.
  3. The surface method uses a model with electrodes in the form of plates. The fastening is made in the crotch area. The method is completely painless, but has low efficiency. Its use is recommended for preventive purposes.

Before carrying out the procedure, you must follow some rules:

  • the bladder should be empty;
  • it is necessary to empty the intestines (it is advisable to do a microenema).

The power supply has the ability to regulate the current. Power is determined for each patient individually. The duration of stimulation ranges from 7 to 20 minutes. The number of sessions is also determined individually by the attending physician.

Do-it-yourself electrical stimulator

When using an electrical stimulator at home, you should first consult your doctor.

Independent use is contraindicated.

To carry out stimulation, you can make an electrical prostate stimulator with your own hands. This is not difficult to do; there are several ways to do this:

  • you can take a regular myostimulator used for muscle building and replace one electrode with a suitable one;
  • With a certain knowledge of physics, you can use available means. Two electrodes in the form of a plate and a closed tube are connected to a power supply of suitable power.

In this case, we must remember that the catheter inserted into the anus must be of a certain shape, completely smooth and with a rounded end.

It is best to use the external method of prostate stimulation; in this case, there is no chance of damaging the rectal mucosa. For this purpose, electrodes in the form of a plate are used.

Handicraft production can cause harm to health! Without specialized equipment and qualifications, the procedures performed, at best, will not have a positive effect.
