Treatment with magnetic therapy of the prostate gland

Prostate magnetic therapy is an effective physiotherapy procedure that is used in combination with drug treatment. It can improve the prostate gland’s susceptibility to medications by improving blood flow, which also helps relieve inflammation and accelerate healing. The procedure can be performed either in a clinic or at home using a portable device.

The essence of the procedure and types

Magnetic therapy for prostate adenoma is considered an alternative treatment method and is used only in combination with drug therapy or as a prophylactic agent, but not as monotherapy.

Magnetic therapy for prostate adenoma has the following positive effects:

  • stimulates tissue regeneration and metabolic processes;
  • improves immune function;
  • reduces pain;
  • dilates blood vessels and improves blood flow;
  • relieves swelling and congestion, reduces inflammation.

Regardless of the benefits, magnetic therapy is ineffective without stopping the inflammatory process. In addition, effectiveness may vary between patients due to individual susceptibility. In some cases, the procedure may not have a positive result. This becomes clear after the third session, if there is no improvement in the condition (usually the process of urination normalizes and pain during it disappears). One session lasts from 15 to 30 minutes. Also, very often the procedure is combined with electrophoresis, which increases the effectiveness of treatment.

Magnetic therapy procedures can be of 2 types:

  1. Narrowly targeted. The action of the magnetic field is directed directly to the prostate gland and adjacent areas.
  2. General. The action of magnets is directed to the thyroid gland and thymus, which contributes to better immune function.

There are also various ways of exposure to a magnetic field:

  1. Low frequency. Most often used at the initial stage of the disease or for preventive purposes.
  2. Treatment of prostatitis with a permanent magnet. The radiation strength is calculated by the doctor individually.
  3. Variable. Affects with different strength, intensity, gradient, time and direction of the field.
  4. Running. A complex of all methods is used, which gives the best result.

Typically, treatment is carried out in clinics under the supervision of a specialist, but there are also portable devices that allow you to use the procedure at home.

Indications

Indications for prescribing magnetic therapy of the prostate gland are:

  • chronic forms of prostatitis and adenoma;
  • initial degrees of prostatitis and adenoma;
  • urolithiasis disease;
  • inflammatory processes in other areas of the pelvis (cystitis, urethritis, epididymitis and orchitis);
  • prevention of diseases of the genitourinary system (especially with a sedentary lifestyle and after 40 years).

Contraindications

The procedure is contraindicated in case of personal intolerance, which is observed in approximately 2% of patients. There are other cases in which it is not carried out:

  • malignant neoplasm in the prostate or nearby tissues;
  • severe form of thrombosis;
  • arterial hypotension;
  • internal bleeding or open wounds;
  • acute infectious diseases (including venereal or bacterial prostatitis);
  • anemia;
  • hypertension;
  • recent stroke or heart attack;
  • tuberculosis;
  • epilepsy;
  • mental disorders.

The procedure is not prescribed for prostate abscess, because heating can lead to its rupture.

Before using magnetic therapy, a doctor's consultation and examination are required.

Devices

Treatment of prostatitis with a magnet is also possible at home; for this you need to choose one of the possible devices. The method of application depends on the device and instructions.

The most common models:

  1. AMT-02 Magniter.
  2. Almag-01.
  3. Mavit.
  4. Vitafon-T.

AMT Magniter

Magnetic therapy for prostatitis at home using this device is carried out in the lumbosacral region or perineum. It is recommended to conduct sessions no longer than 10 minutes and alternate areas for 2 weeks; for prevention, once a week is enough. The device operates with a pulsating or sinusoidal magnetic field and makes it possible to regulate the magnitude of magnetic induction.

Almag-01

It consists of the device itself and a special belt that must be applied to the area in which the therapy is performed. For treatment, 10 sessions are carried out with a break a day between them, duration is 15 minutes.

Mavit

The device produces not only a magnetic field, but also an acoustic field. It consists of the device itself and a probe, which, in case of treatment of prostatitis, must be placed in the rectum. The course of treatment is 10 daily procedures for 20 minutes.

Vitafon-T

It is used for the treatment of a wide range of diseases of inflammatory and traumatic origin: prostatitis, arthritis, osteochondrosis, radiculitis, sinusitis, rhinitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis and otitis media.
