Treatment of prostatitis and adenoma with folk remedies from celandine

Celandine has been used as a medicine by people for a very long time. Sometimes it is also called warthog, martin grass or swallow grass.

Celandine for prostatitis and adenoma is used due to its anesthetic and bactericidal effect. However, its juice is very toxic, so if possible, other traditional medicine should be used. Before use, consultation with a urologist is required.

Medicinal properties

The plant contains a large number of alkaloids that exhibit different effects on the body:

  • chelidonin (has antibacterial and calming effects, reduces blood pressure);
  • homochelidonin (related to anesthetics);
  • protopin (tonifies the muscular work of internal organs, inhibits the autonomic nervous system);
  • chelerythrine (promotes vasodilation, relieves pain)
  • sanguinarine (stimulates digestion).

In addition, celandine contains: ascorbic acid, essential oil, carotene, saponins, flavonoids, organic acids - succinic, citric and malic.

Treatment of prostate adenoma with celandine occurs due to the fact that the substances included in the plant have:

  • anti-inflammatory;
  • antibacterial;
  • pain reliever;
  • antitumor;
  • diuretic action.

Contraindications

Before using medicines based on celandine, you should definitely consult with your doctor. It should not be taken if:

  • individual intolerance;
  • tendency to epileptic seizures;
  • mental disorders;
  • neurological diseases;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • angina pectoris;
  • heart failure.

The plant is very toxic, so its use is not recommended; it is advisable to use recipes based on other components.

How to prepare

When harvesting independently, the plant must be harvested during the flowering period - from May to July. Celandine grows everywhere: it can be found in fields, near private houses, in vegetable gardens, etc. It is best to collect grass away from roads, in unpolluted areas.

During collection, the plant must be dug up completely, with roots, immediately removing rotten and dry leaves. It is recommended to use gloves, a mask and goggles, as the juice can cause skin irritation and its fumes are toxic.

To dry, you can tie the grass branches into bunches and hang them in a ventilated place.

In addition to self-harvesting, already dried raw materials or products based on them can be purchased at the pharmacy.

Recipes

Home treatment of prostatitis and adenoma with celandine can be carried out using:

  • alcohol infusions;
  • water decoctions;
  • drinking juice;
  • candles;
  • microenemas.

Tincture

In order to prepare an alcohol tincture, you need to place the freshly harvested plant in a glass jar and fill it with alcohol in a ratio of 1:5. Infuse for 14 days in a cool, dark place.

You need to take celandine for prostate adenoma in this form, half a teaspoon 3 times a day before meals. The duration of treatment is 21 days. It is best to dilute the tincture with water, as it has a bitter taste.

Decoction

Only the root of the plant is suitable for preparing a decoction. To make it you need to pour 30 g of crushed rhizome into 500 ml of hot water. Cook over low heat for 15 minutes. After this, remove from the stove, wrap and leave to cool. Then pass through cheesecloth. Take 1 tbsp. l. 3 times a day. The course of treatment is 15 days.

Juice

The juice of the plant cannot be consumed in its pure form, due to its high toxicity. To prepare, you need to pass the collected herbs through a meat grinder, squeeze out the juice and dilute with an equal amount of vodka. For administration, the mixture is further diluted with water or milk. Drinking juice should start with 1 drop, increasing the intake by 1 drop every day. Increase the amount of liquid consumed to 30 drops, and again reduce the dosage to 1 drop.

Microclysters

To perform microenemas, you need to use a decoction of celandine diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio. 50 ml of the resulting product is administered into the rectum once a day, preferably in the evening. The duration of treatment is 10 procedures, they need to be done with a break of 2 days between them.

Candles

You can make suppositories with celandine for prostatitis yourself. To do this, mix the extract, juice or decoction of the plant with paraffin or confectionery fat and let it harden. It is best to use a decoction, since the concentration of alkaloids in it is lower.

The best option is to use pharmaceutical suppositories containing celandine, since they strictly adhere to the dosage and proportions of medications.
